This agreement

These terms are an agreement between you and Line of Ascent, founded and run by Kathleen Goble. They cover lineofascent.com, the weekly article and other emails, the free tools, and the courses we sell. By using any of them, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information. It is part of these terms.

Who may use the site

The site is written for adults. Anyone may read it. To buy a course, you must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding agreement.

The weekly article and free tools

The weekly article and free tools, including the AI Archetype and its Starter worksheet, are free for your personal, non-commercial use. We may change, pause, or retire any of them at any time.

The AI Archetype describes how you make decisions about AI based on your answers. It isn’t a test with right answers, a diagnosis, or professional advice.

You can unsubscribe from any email at any time with the link at the bottom of the message.

Courses and purchases

• Price. The price and any taxes or fees are shown before you complete your purchase.
• Payment. Checkout is handled by our payment processor, ThriveCart. We never receive or store your full card number.
• Your license. A purchase gives you a personal, non-transferable license to use the course and its materials yourself. Please don’t share your access, resell, or redistribute them.
• Access. Your purchase gives you access to the course for as long as Line of Ascent operates it. If we retire a course, we will give you reasonable advance notice and a reasonable opportunity to download any course materials made available for download. If you purchased a course when it was expressly offered with “lifetime access,” that promise continues to apply to your purchase under the terms in effect when you bought it.
• Refunds. Unless a course page says otherwise, you can request a full refund within 14 days of purchase by emailing kathleen@lineofascent.com. This doesn’t limit any other rights you have under the law.
• Updates. We may improve or update course content over time.

Our work and how you may use it

The writing, designs, images, assessments, worksheets, and course materials on this site belong to Line of Ascent or the people who licensed them to us. They are protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws.

You may read and use the site and anything you buy for your own non-commercial use. You may quote brief passages for commentary, discussion, or reference, with credit to Line of Ascent and a link where practical. Anything beyond that, such as republishing, reproducing, adapting, selling, or distributing our protected materials, needs our written permission.

If you send us suggestions or feedback, we may use them to improve Line of Ascent without owing you anything for them.

Acceptable use

When you use the site, please don’t:

• use it for anything unlawful, harmful, or fraudulent;
• copy, scrape, or harvest content or data, except as these terms allow;
• submit forms through bots or other automated means intended to abuse, spam, manipulate, or interfere with the site;
• knowingly submit false or misleading information;
• try to get unauthorized access to the site, its systems, or anyone’s account;
• interfere with the site or introduce malicious code;
• resell or commercially exploit any part of the site or its tools; or
• pretend to be someone you are not.

Other sites and services

The site links to services we don’t control, including Substack, ThriveCart, Amazon, X, and Truth Social. We aren’t responsible for their content or practices. Their own terms apply when you use them.

What we don’t promise

We work hard to make everything here accurate and useful. Even so, the site, emails, free tools, and courses are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows.

Our content is for general information and education. It isn’t legal, financial, tax, medical, or other professional advice. The decisions you make with it are yours.

Limits on liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Line of Ascent and Kathleen Goble are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages that come from your use of the site or anything you get through it. Where the law doesn’t allow a limit like this, the limit applies only as far as the law permits.

Ending access

We may suspend or end your access to the site or to purchased materials if you break these terms or misuse the site. You may stop using the site at any time. Terms that should naturally continue, such as those about our work, disclaimers, and limits on liability, stay in effect.

Changes to these terms

When our offerings or the law change, we will update these terms and the date at the top. If a change is material, we will give notice where appropriate or required. If you keep using the site after an update takes effect, the updated terms apply, to the extent the law allows.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules, except where the law requires otherwise.
